My First Ever Blog!

This is officially my first ever blog, I'm quite doubtful that anyone will read any of my blogs but I'm using it as a self motivation tool anyway.

My sewing machine is all wrapped up under our Christmas tree, I can't wait to open it and get to grips with how to use it. Apparently it comes with a tutorial DVD but I've only ever watched my Gran on hers but never really had the chance to use one myself so it could be interesting! I've just bought some 'vintage' dresses from eBay 24 of them in total, I'm hoping along with my current wardrobe they'll keep me occupied and dressed over the next year. Just had a thought  . . . . I don't have any dressmakers scissors or cotton for making any clothes so that’s on my list to get next otherwise I wont be getting very far.

I found the most amazing idea for a skirt ever and it's going to be my first project in January I love it -

With the whole getting into shape thing I've signed up to Weight Watchers and keep reading over little bits so I know what to expect when I go to the meeting in January. I need to rummage for my old running stuff and get it all washed and ready for the 1st. Lucky in a way that I’m working New Years eve throughout the day and in the evening (my husband is a tribute act to Frank Sinatra and I do his sound engineering) so I won’t be all hung-over and feeling horrible. I like the idea of going into a new year with a clear head and open mind. If anyone has any tips about getting started with the whole running thing I’ll be a very grateful recipient.

It’s my last day at my old job tomorrow which is mega scary but we’re all off to the pub for my send off which is nice. I’m going to work for the same company as my hubby but in a different department and a different building but I’m quite excided and nervous about it. My current job is 20 miles from where we live and I can’t drive so my hubby has to drop me off and pick me up everyday. His work is 10 miles in another direction so he spends about 2 hours a day driving so it’ll be a welcome brake from all the driving as well as not using so much fuel. So we get more time at home together, less time driving, less fuel – lets just hope I like the job!

My allotment was very kind and gave me an abundance of butternut squashes and I’ve just about run out of ideas of what to do with them. So if anyone has any great recipes please though them my way.

Thanks for reading
